Colleagues at Domtar’s Personal Care facility in Waco, Texas, recently assembled and delivered 1,500 baby care packages, which included books and diapers, to local organizations that help support low-income families.
Through its Powerful Pages initiative, Domtar has supported First Book and Classroom Central for many years. Recently, the organizations worked together to purchase and distribute 40,000 free books to teachers in the Charlotte, North Carolina, area.
Take a book, leave a book. A free book exchange is now available at Walter Elisha Park in Fort Mill, South Carolina, where Domtar recently partnered with the town to install a Little Free Library.
For the second year, Domtar will help support Tosa’s All-City Read in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The event encourages residents read the same book at the same time to promote literacy and build a stronger community.
In August, Domtar donated $100,000 to the Office Depot Foundation’s National Backpack program, helping to provide children across the United States with supplies they need for the new school year.
