Domtar Forest Porch at Anne Springs Close Greenway

The new Domtar Forest Porch is now open to all visitors at the Anne Springs Close Greenway near our corporate headquarters in Fort Mill, South Carolina. This amenity highlights Domtar’s long partnership with the nature preserve.

The 2,100-acre Anne Springs Close Greenway is a prime destination for connecting with nature and the area’s rich cultural heritage. It gives the community space to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities – from fishing, hiking and horseback riding to picnics, kayaking and more. It also hosts nature-focused educational programs and special events.

In recognition of our close partnership with this nature preserve, the new open-air gathering space has been officially named the Domtar Forest Porch. It sits next to the Greenway Gateway Welcome Center and Gateway Canteen Café.

“Domtar is a valued corporate partner of the Anne Springs Close Greenway, spanning over many years,” says John Gordon, executive director at the Greenway. “The Domtar Forest Porch will provide a space for our community to gather, enjoy nature and elevate the experience we are able to provide on the property without diminishing the incredible natural elements of the land we seek to preserve.”

Our Commitment to Our Communities

We are proud to be part of many amazing communities around the world, and we show our gratitude and love for these towns through various community investment initiatives. The Domtar Forest Porch is just one example of this commitment and exemplifies our value of caring through sustainability and health and wellness efforts.

“The Domtar Forest Porch represents our commitment to the local community and the legacy of the Anne Springs Close Greenway,” says Domtar President and CEO John D. Williams. “Our company’s mission to serve as a world-class industry leader while positively impacting our communities is made possible through partnerships like this one, and we are extremely proud to see what this new amenity will bring to our local community.”

Fort Mill, South Carolina, is home to our corporate headquarters and our Pulp and Paper divisional headquarters. With about 550 employees in the area, we have become heavily invested in the community. Many of our colleagues participate in reading events at local elementary schools, pick up litter through Adopt-A-Highway programs and volunteer at the Anne Springs Close Greenway.
